The Wensha Experience
Located in front of the World Trade Center near Boom na Boom, Me and my pinoy friend from the States agreed to visit the place. This is our first time here.
The pool reminds me of Babylon (Bangkok), Chakran (Bangkok), House of Male (Chiang Mai) and Club One Seven (Singapore). And the movie Steam The Turkish Bath, kasi may nagtu-toothbrush pa.
While at the buffet table where we will pick our “ingredients” for our Shabu-Shabu:
Old gay Chinese man with single earring: Ano itich?
Waiter: ‘Wa ko knows. (nge)
Mga Wanted!
I’m back with a vengeance. Ito ang mga taong dapat iwasan at huwag pagkatiwalaan (sa aking pananaw).
Joemar aka Shane Marcus- I don’t know his real surname.
Melvin aka Marc – Cruz ata surname nito. Taga Blumentritt. Ito pinahiram ko ng pera sa Bangkok last year kasi nadukutan ng wallet sa Hongkong. Di naman sya kasi nanghiram ng pera, naawa lang ako na wala siya gagamitin all throughout the tour. He promise me to pay it upon going back to the Philippines pero ayan 1 year na wala pa rin. Balance nya ata ay 1500 na lang din. Madami palusot. Nakapag-Bangkok na uli this month di pa ako nababayaran.
1.) Para iwasan ang mga taong ito at baka kayo na naman ang susunod na ma-biktima. 2.) Dahil malapit na ang Pasko para may pan-regalo ako sa inyo (hahaha).
Nakahanap sila ng katapat nila. I am not like this. Tinuruan lang nila ako maging Bitch. Sorry. Mag react na ang gustong mag react.
Mabuhay from the Philippines!
Okay, my first blog for 2008…I know, everyone’s asking if there’s any new entry. The other night I can’t sleep and thought of this…So here it is…
I’ve travelled the Southeast Asia (including Macau & Hongkong, except Brunei and Myanmar ) since my departure from JRRMMC, which stamped-out more than half of my new passport.
I’ve always been mistaken either for a Chinese (which I am a Chinese descent), or Japanese (quite good). Of all these travels, the most tag line I enjoyed so much when they ask you “Where are you from?” without hesitation I would say “from the Philippines!” Kulang na lang sabihin ko na “from the Island Paradise, consisting of 7,107 islands, THE PHILIPPINES! O diba?
Babylon where everyone speaks different languages, came from different countries but has the same purpose…to view the spectacular sunset of Angkor Wat. Different people from different countries: Japanese, Koreans, Thais, locals, Malaysians, Russians, Spanish, Indians, Americans, etc etc (see left photo). With this group of people I am very proud that
Philippines were very much represented to see and visit one of Asia’s spectacular spiritual sites. And I also realized that there is so much to see in Asia: Angkor Wat in Cambodia, Borobudur in Indonesia (which I will visit someday), Cu Chi Tunnels in Ho Chi Minh, Luang Prabang in Laos (which I haven’t been either, only in Vientiane) etc. And with this, after saying that I’m from the Philippines, I would say “Have you been to the Philippines?" Most often they would say they haven’t been here…”Oh you should better go, to see the beautiful beaches of the Philippines.”
These travels again enriched me personally, spiritually, socially, and gained experience which was never taught in school (eg. Khmer Rouge, Ankor Wat, Buddhism, French-Indochine War). When we were on top of Phnom Bakheng in one of the golden hour of Angkor Wat, I’ve realized we we’re like in the old
When I was in Sra Srang (where the ancient monks used to bathe in Ankor Wat), Korea? No; China? No; Malaysia? No; Singapore? No; Japan? No; Thailand? No; Indonesia? No; and so on and so forth but missed one…”Okay tell me, where are you from”…from the little stage where I am standing, I shouted and proudly said “from the PHILIPPINES”
there was this little stage or quay (right photo), I was already on top and this little girls kept on insisting me to buy their postcards. They again ask me where I am from…I said “you guess and I would buy your postcards”…she said one by one:
After a while, after seeing the beautiful waters of Sra Srang, she came back to me…
“I also have a teacher who’s a Filipino”
“Really? What does she teach?”
“English”
(uhm…that gives me a sense of pride)
“Tell her Hi and Mabuhay”
“What does that mean?”
“It means welcome or long-live”
(That is a salute to our comrade working as an English Teacher in a once war-torn country of Cambodia wherein she prefers to work in a more depressed country than ours, probably because of higher pay and more benefits).
Cinemalaya 2007
Yes, I’m cultured kuno and a supporter of Indie Films. I watched Pisay at the CCP together with Ivan. All tickets for the all entries are sold out but luckily we’re able to get tickets from the lady behind me at the queue. I’m sure by the time I post this there are already results of the awards. Allan Diones, Ivan and mine’s bet is Pisay for Best Picture. Gammy Lopez is oh so good looking, such a cute young boy and has a resemblance to Nathan Lopez of ‘Pagdadalaga ni Maximo Oliveros’. He may be a brother or something. And has the same director (Auraeus Solito). And also not to forget every man’s dream: Arnold Reyes!!! Besides Pisay I was also able to watch previous years’ entries: Kubrador, Compound (Jake Macapagal) and Room Boy (starring Polo Ravales). And also for the premiere of Chris Pablo’s Retaso which I didn’t like btw.
- Sitti in The Mix – I Didn’t Know What I Was Looking For Love (Morning After Remix), Tattoed On My Mind (Beach Avenue Remix) stands out in this album.
- Hed Kandi – Fierce Disco 2007 (3 CDs) – Church Lady (Original Mix) by Dennis Ferrer, Kingdom of Pretty(Bassmonkets Mix)– Bonnie Bailey, Love is the Music (2007 Gospel Mix) – FR, Moony – All I Need (T&F Moltosugo Club Mix). I can say is that there are about 2-3 that stands out in every CD.
-
Hed Kandi Beach House 69 – Miguel Migs’ So far, Ride the Storm by Roachford & MYNC are the best in here.
- Club Sampler Reloaded 4 – a club version of Miss Universe’ Glamorous (Fergie feat Ludacris) surely will move your booty out.
- Eileen Sison e Guarana – a true bossa that I was telling you a long time ago now has an album!
Addendum:
Cinemalaya 2007 Winners: Best Actress INA FELEO, Best Actor ENSEMBLE CAST OF TRIBU, Best Film TRIBU, Special Jury Award ENDO, Audience Choice Award PISAY, Best Director AURAEUS SOLITO, Best Short Film ROLYO.
The Annual White Party
A first in any street party: an entrance fee of 50 pesos inclusive of one drink.
Rain didn’t stop any fags to go attend the annual pride. As the years have past, Midsummer’s Night Eve (around 4 years ago) is still unsurpassable. I really wasn’t able to see the program because of the rain. I was inside Bed the whole time. But when I was about to go home at 3 AM there are still a long queue going to Bed and there are still a lot of people on the streets. Haha, the typical uniform is white top and blue jeans! You know those white wings, hindi sya mawala-wala. The worst get-up I saw was a white short shorts (from the early 80s) with knee high socks. He wore a white Nike top and white cap with a hanky hung on the back of his white cap (ewwww)! Mine is simple but elegant, a tailored made white jeans (by Alter to fit, fabric from Tutuban), a white polo shirt from H&M (as usual), white Beetle Bug shoes and a white garrison bracelet on my left.
Also a first, me on the Bed video wall!!! Thanks JayD. Happy Pride everyone!
Okay, it won’t embed here. Just go to this URL to see the video:
My Last Few Days in JR
Okay… I know a lot of you are reading my blog. Why don’t you post your comments here. And not just text me asking me this and that etc. okay, understood?
This is my last week in Jose Reyes. I really don’t know why I’m quite depressed these past few days. Is it because I will not be gonna having any more salary/income? I really don’t know. The future is quite dark for me. I honestly don’t where to go. Okay, let’s put it this way, if I passed the specialty board, now what? Would I be absorbed in Jose Reyes? Would I be accepted in other hospitals? I really don’t know. Basta, I will have my “gap year” (just like Prince William) first. I’ll just take the boards next year. I really don’t know what I’m gonna do with this “gap year”. Party? Moonlight?
Our consultants gave a despidida blow-out for us at JR. I promised myself not to be emotional. They asked for a speech and one of this Thursday Group ask “How do you see yourself ten years from now?” A Miss Universe question for a Miss Universe answer, hmmm. Actually I’m ready anytime to answer such question. But I lost my composure and cried. I don’t know why I became emotional. I even let some cry too, nge… And some even take photograph of me crying. I reviewed it and found I so fucking fugly!!! You know those artistas in television they are still even beautiful when they cry, ako hindi!!!
Okay, after this crying brouhaha…I am glad I was nominated by Dra. Calaguas to IAEA training course in Japan in September with Marti (OMG). Let’s just hope and pray that I would be accepted…sana… This would be again showing the beauty of the Philippines! This is Riyo Mori, 20, Japan!
